Scarecrow gathering at village fete

As well as traditional games, crafts and stalls, the event, which takes place at the Millenium Green from 1pm, will include a range of entertainments and a scarecrow competition in which people of any age can enter on the day.

Attractions for the afternoon include crockery smash, belly dancing, a photography exhibition, locally-produced food and drink, face painting, live music and a mouse hunt. There will also be refreshments, including crepes and hot dogs, and those interested can seek advice on responding to the HS2 consultation. Anyone wishing to enter the scarecrow competition must arrive with their scarecrow by 1.45pm and people will be entered into appropriate categories - under 12, 12 to 18, adult or families.
