School visitors reminisce about 1940s Britain

GUESTS at a Leamington school’s tea party were able to reminisce about the fashions and music of Second World War Britain.

Residents of five care homes from in and around the town were invited to Brookhurst Primary School’s 1940s fancy dress party this month, where they enjoyed tea and cakes and were entertained by pupils who encouraged them to sing along to wartime classics such as We’ll Meet Again and Doing the Lambeth Walk.

The war was a recent lesson topic at the school.
