Schoolchildren enjoy a clean sweep of poetry awards

Pupils at The Dassett CE Primary School in Fenny Compton enjoyed a clean sweep of awards in the schools’ category of the Southam Lions Poetry Competition.

In the Key Stage 1 section, Toby Pimlott (aged six) was awarded first place, with Zachary Lord (six) as runner up. Wilfred Stevns (five) and Thomas Dempsey (six) were joint third. In Key Stage 2, Kezia Hine (eight) was runner up and Emily Hunt (eight ) and Billy Burton (ten) were joint third.

They have all been invited to take part in an awards evening on November 14 and will be given book tokens and a copy of a poetry book with their published poems in it.
