
Prizes were also awarded to the youth club, for its ‘Peace and War’ float, to the Brownies for their ‘Bake-off’ float, to the Scouts for their First World War War hospital-themed creation and several other groups.
And as well as the usual carnival attractions, there was a special release of 100 red balloons to mark the carnival’s 100th anniversary.
The carnival committee’s chairman James Briggs said: “Thank you to everyone who turned up and to the committee, without whom the event would not have been possible.”
