Slideshow: Massive efforts across our south Warwickshire for Sport Relief cause
Iron Maiden rocker Bruce Dickinson took off from Coventry Airport in Baginton with Sainsbury’s chief executive Justin King to take part in a charity flight mission around the country in the world’s newest eco-jet, the Eclipse.
Over in Tysoe, toddlers at Winchcombe Farm Day Nursery took part in a sponsored jump at a Yogabugs ‘bounce’ class, through which they raised £250.

Hide AdIn Warwick, children at Coten End Primary School swapped their uniforms for outfits depicting famous sportsmen and women or their favourite sports kit, while teachers held a Sports Relief ‘Bake Off’. Their combined efforts raised £539.
Fundraising at Campion School in Leamington saw pupils take part in a ‘chaos run’ - involving races, hay bale challenges, water slides and bungee runs - in an event sponsored by Kids Run Free and Raceways sports charities. Friends Alison Insley and Fiona Clark took on a 2.5km swimming challenge at Abbey Fields sin Kenilworth, raising around £300. Then Alison oversaw a Sport Relief squash mile for junior squash players at LA Fitness in Warwick, with children running, walking, sprinting, jogging, hopping, skipping and even cartwheeling 164 lengths of a court. Their efforts raised another £100.
More than 100 staff at Baxi in Warwick dedicated a day to taking telephone donations from the public. They took £67,549 in donations.
And in Victoria Park in Leamington, people were given the chance to run one, three or six miles for the cause.
This year’s campaign has so far raised more than £53 million for Comic Relief causes. www.sportrelief.com
