The event, organised by the Leamington and Warwick Soroptimists, with help from the Kenilworth branch, raised over £6,000 with more money still to come.

This sponsorship will go towards respite care and activities for two groups of carers: the local branch of Parkinson’s UK and the Warwickshire Young Carers’ Project.

Swimathon co-ordinator Valerie Grimmer said “It was a very happy day and as usual the teams seemed to really enjoy themselves.

“The total raised so far is very worthwhile and we hope it will provide respite care and enable these carers of all ages to have breaks from their everyday routine”.
