Slow start on plans for Warwick common

Two meetings of what has become a huge working party looking into future development and safeguarding of St Mary’s Lands in Warwick have had to be postponed.

District councillor Mike Kinson, who is not standing for re-election next month, had chaired the first meeting of fellow district and town councillors, along with stakeholders representing The Jockey Club, girls’ marching band, football club, Friends’ group and Warwick District Council chief executive Chris Elliott.

Nigel Hamilton, of the Friends’ group, said the next meeting is now not expected until after the elections.
