Specials musicians shows off artwork in Leamington

TRADITIONAL iconography with a contemporary twist features in an exhibition by an artist who is better known as a member of a successful band.

Horrace Panter will be exhibiting his works at the White Room Gallery in Regent Street, Leamington, from Saturday until Tuesday January 24.

Panter is the co-founder of Coventry-based two tone ska revival band The Specials who had a string of chart hits in the 1980s.

He is also a former fine art student who graduated from Coventry Lanchester Polytechnic in 1975.

He merges various images and styles into his paintings, so they often contain some intertextuality and he describes his work as ‘appropriation and subversion’.For more information visit www.thewhiteroomgallery.com
