Specsavers event offered free hearing tests

FREE hearing tests were provided as part of a national campaign which came to Leamington this month.

Town mayor Cllr Yvonne Moore was among the 21 people who had a check as part of the Sound Check the Nation event at Leamington town hall last week, which was run by Specsavers Hearing Centres.

Of those who entered the hearing booth, 13 were referred for full hearing tests which proved how worthwhile the event was.

Specsavers has pledged to carry out one million checks across the UK by October.

The event was also held in support of the charity Hearing Dogs for which £56 was raised through the sale of raffle tickets and cupcakes made by staff at the Specsavers opticians branch in Leamington.

Hearing aid audiologist Raspal Kaur said: “It’s time to normalise hearing loss and show how many options are available to those who suffer from it.

“Having a free hearing check is the first step.”
