Speedy arrests after incident at Warwick

FOUR people were arrested early on Wednesday morning after a man was assaulted in Warwick.

The incident happened at around 12.30am when the victim suffered injuries to his head and eye.

The attackers ran off towards Leamington Way, and the victim’s Sony Ericsson mobile phone was found by police in a nearby garden.

The 55-year-old man from Oldham was taken to hospital where he was treated for a five centimetre cut to the back of his head and a four centimetre cut to his left eye.

At just before 1am, four people were arrested nearby - a woman of 28 from Coventry, a 19-year-old woman from Warwick, a boy of 17 from Gloucester and a girl of 16 from Leamington.

All four people have been released on police bail to reappear at Leamington police station on March 2.
