Sports stars saddle up to help Prince’s Trust

FORMER Aston Villa footballer Dion Dublin and Rugby World Cup winner Martin Johnson were among the sports stars who saddled up for a fundraising event in Warwick on Sunday.

They were joined by Olympic cycling gold medalist Rebecca Romero and former Leicester Tigers winger Leon Lloyd in taking part in the Palace to Palace bicycle ride in aid of the Prince’s Trust.

The 45-mile circular ride from Warwick Castle raised vital funds to help the youth charity support young people in the West Midlands.

The rides have raised £1.1 million for The Prince’s Trust over the last six years and this was the first time the event had been held in the region.

The funds will help young people find work.

Former England rugby captain Lewis Moody also took part in the event.

He said: “I’m exhausted but so pleased I took part as I think the work The Prince’s Trust does is incredible in helping young people to turn their lives around.”
