The first H Factor featured 12 acts from various year groups, with judges made up of Rugby Mayor Sally Bragg, Jenny McDonald from the Pauline Quirke Academy and Johanne Thomas, of Urban&Civic, the master developers of the Houlton site.

The evening kicked off with a party pumping dance performance from Rock Party Dancers, a group of young pupils from a collective of age groups, followed by some seriously skilled future footballers who rolled out their latest ball tricks to music.

The Frozen Gang, dressed head to toe in Elsa outfits, performed hit songs from the Disney movie and Holly Lightfoot from Year 6 hula hooped to the beat for a dazzled Hillmorton crowd.

Year 4 songbird Faith Harris, taekwondo supremo Eashan Palmer from Year 5 and Isabel Hanks from Year 6 made it through to the final round of the competition, where Isabel pulled out the breakthrough performance of the night, finding her confidence and a show stopping voice, to be crowned H Factor winner for her tear jerking performance of The Climb.

Catherine Crisp, headmistress at Hillmorton Primary School, said: “Every year we enjoy a variety of wonderful performances from our talented young pupils at Hillmorton, but Isabel was a deserved winner this year.

“A feast for the eyes and the ears, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!”

The three finalists from Wednesday’s H Factor competition have now been invited by Urban&Civic to perform at their opening events at Dollman Farm in the spring.
