Step back to a 1642 battle in Southam

People can step back in time to the English Civil War and gain a feel for what happened during the Battle of Southam in 1642 at a event next month.

On August 17 and 18, there will be a parade of ‘soldiers’ from the Sealed Knot ‘living history’ organisation dressed in Civil War costume and carrying period weaponry, before they stage a battle re-enactment with foot soldiers, cavalry, cannon-fire, muskets, pikes and drums.

The event will include 17th century-style food, drink and music with roasted pig, beer, cider and song smiths and war games, competitions, children’s activities, demonstrations of rural crafts from the period and a chance to talk to Sealed Knot members.

To register an interest in attending the event, email [email protected] or call Pam McConnell on 814923.
