Still no response on Warwick district population growth

Members of the Warwick Society say they are mystified that officers on the district council have still not responded to the revised population growth figures issued by the Office for National Statistics.

Chairman James Mackay believes the statistics could be a ‘lifeline’ for the council’s Local Plan.

Mr Mackay said: “Warwick District Council has worked long and hard to prepare a new Local Plan. A milestone was reached last week with the deadline for representations on the ‘soundness’ of the publication draft.”

Members of a wide range of local groups, including representatives from Leamington, Whitnash and Bishops Tachbrook, have written to the district council because they fear there is a strong risk the plan will, if it goes to its public examination, fail the test of ‘soundness.’
