Storytelling takes families back in time

TRADITIONAL folk tales were shared with families by a professional travelling storyteller at Chedham’s Yard in Wellesbourne.

Sophie Snell, who visits children and adults at events, festivals, at schools, libraries and museums around the UK and abroad, spent the day at the restored Edwardian blacksmiths’ and wheelrights’, which is now open for visits every Saturday until October 27.

Sophie, who also leads workshops, bases her stories on traditional folk tales from the British Isles and Northern Europe.

Emma Banks, heritage project officer at Chedham’s Yard, said: “Quite a few families came along and enjoyed listening to the stories.

“Bookings are picking up. People are starting to discover us now. But we could always do with more visitors!”
