Successful raffle helps boost funds for charity

Chris White MP made the draw for the first ever Grand Christmas Raffle held by the Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth branch of Save the Children.

The draw took place at The Star & Garter just before Christmas. A total of 2,208 tickets for the raffle. The first prize of a three night weekend stay in a Cotswold cottage was won by Helen Simmons from Worcestershire. Ann Bailey, secretary of the branch, said: “We are indebted to Chris White for finding time in his busy schedule to help with the draw and we are absolutely delighted at the success of the Christmas raffle which has been a major boost to our efforts to raise at least £20,000 this year. We are very grateful to everyone who donated prizes, and who helped by selling and buying tickets. The Star & Garter has very generously donated a £50 voucher and we are delighted that it also hosted the draw.”
