Support charities in countryside run

THOSE wishing to take some inspiration from this year’s Olympics in London can take part in a five-mile charity run in Hatton next month.

The eighth Hatton Multi-Terrain 5 and a 1.5 mile fun run start at Hatton Shopping Village in Hatton Country World on Sunday September 30 and the course loops around the estate.

Among runners to have already signed up are 50k British and World Masters record holder Sue Harrison, who runs for Leamington Cycling and Athletics Club.

Hatton Shopping Village marketing manager Carol Blower, also a member of Leamington C&AC, said the event was being supported by Hatton and organised by race director Noel Butler of the club.

Funds raised will go to Hatton Joint Organisations, which helps seven charities in the parishes of Shrewley, Haseley and Hatton, including the Royal British Legion and Hatton 1st Brownies.

Mrs Blower said: “The beauty of these races is that they are run in local countryside, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Runners can complete the carefully-designed course while taking in some of the best views in Warwickshire.”

Entry for the main event costs £11 or £9 for affiliated athletics club members, while entry for the fun run costs £2 per family. To find out more, call 844330 or visit www.hattonworld.com
