Support line brings light to people in dark times

MACMILLAN Cancer Support’s specialist support line will be among the services which could benefit from donations made to this year’s Trees of Light campaign in Leamington and Whitnash.

The line, which is staffed by specialist cancer nurses who can answer questions and offer support, took more than 100,000 enquiries from people affected by cancer last year.

Karen Shortt, Warwickshire fundraising manager for Macmillan, said: “We know most people feel overwhelmed when they are told that they have cancer. “Cancer’s a tough journey, that’s why the Macmillan team are here to support you every step of the way, offering specialist information, emotional and practical support via our support line, local information centres, nurses and website.”
