The syringes, some still in their packages and others used, were found in the area of Court Street and Althorpe Street near the industrial estate.

The resident, who had sent photos of the syringes to the Courier but wanted to remain anonymous, said: “I don’t like the idea of it taking place in this area.

“I’ve seen quite few syringes in recent days, some of them have been used as well.

“It is very near the Polish Centre which is used by groups for children.”

Police Community Support Officer Martin Mansell, of the Leamington South Safer Neigbourhood Team, said patrols were being increased during the Easter Holidays and that Court Street and Althorpe Streets were among the ‘hotspot’ areas for patrols.

He added: “Obviously a lot of the work we do has to be based on the intelligence we receive so we would ask anybody who sees anything suspicious to let us know.

A raid took place in the area in September 2014 and three men were arrested on suspicion if supplying Class A drugs.

Officers used a Land Rover equipped with a platform to enter through a window of the flat above the Munch Crunch takeaway in High Street.

A large quantity of what was thought to be controlled drugs were seized from the property and another three men were arrested later.

To report crime to the Police call 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
