Nine-year-old Darcy Harrison’s video of herself demonstrating how she thinks children have lots of different ways to play with the brand’s products was chosen as the best out of more than 100 entries to feature in Playmobil’s Christmas advert in the UK.

Darcy was whisked off to a professional studio to record her voiceovers and experience the advertising process from start to finish. She was also rewarded with £250 worth of Playmobil toys.

Darcy said: “I can’t believe my voice is going to be on TVs all over the country in the run up to Christmas! I had such a good time making my film and recording the ad. It was such an amazing experience - I can’t wait to see the final result on TV.”

Darcy’s mum Emma Morris said: “Darcy wanted to create her own ad which showed how children have lots of different ways to play because she couldn’t choose one favourite toy.

“She had the confidence knocked out of her when she had a trampoline accident, so started acting lessons with Stagecoach to build it back up again. She’s our little star and loves creating and performing plays at home. I’m incredibly proud of Darcy and the whole experience has been a dream come true.”

Playmobil’s marketing manager Jamie Dickinson said: “We were incredibly touched and impressed by the passion, creativity and standard of entries that the children sent in. Darcy’s talent shone through in her video and in the way she captured our incredibly diverse target audience. She blew us away on the recording day with her enthusiasm and professional attitude and I think she has a great future ahead of her.”

The adverts will run from now to Christmas on Channel 5, Nick Jr, Cartoon Network, CITV and Disney. To view the ads online, visit www.youtube.com/PlaymobilUK
