Talk farming with the NFU

A roadshow which teaches people about the importance of farming will be one of the attractions at a popular annual Warwickshire event next Saturday.

The National Farmers Union’s Let’s Talk Farming roadshow will be staged at the Kenilworth Show at Stoneleigh Park.

Let’s Talk Farming aims to provide information on farming in Britain, what wildlife can be found, how our food moves from the farm to the dinner table, and how farmers are meeting environmental challenges while producing food to feed a growing population.

Farmer and presenter Johnny Ball said: “The popularity of the roadshow continues to go from strength-to-strength and it’s great talking farming and speaking to the public about where their food comes from and the work we are doing.

“This year will be the roadshow’s busiest ever and I’m delighted to be off to Kenilworth Show for the first time as it has such great pedigree and is now the main event in Warwickshire.

“We are pushing ahead with the NFU’s Back British Farming campaign to show the positive impact our great industry has and I look forward to seeing show-goers on the day to tell them about what we do.”

The Kenilworth Show is organised by the Kenilworth and District Agricultural Society (KADAS) and the group’s chairman Gordon Gatward said it was delighted to have the roadshow at the event.

He said: “ “The aims of the roadshow are very much in line with the ethos of the Kenilworth Show in introducing people to farming, countryside management and food production in an enjoyable and interesting way.
