Tasting panel travelled miles to find the best ales for the Eathorpe Beer Festival

This year’s Eathorpe Beer Festival will benefit from the hard work of its tasting panel who drove 250 miles and visited eight breweries in two days to choose the ales for the event.

David French, the main organiser of the event, said: ‘We knew it would be hard work, particularly for the drivers who couldn’t have a drink until we got to our hotel.

“But we were determined to get the best possible range for our visitors.

“By tasting everything, we can be confident that all the 14 beers we’ll have on sale will be of exceptional quality.”

The event , featuring beer sourced mainly from breweries in or around Worcestershire and Herefordshire takes place next Friday and Saturday and will run from 5.30pm on the opening day and from 1pm to 11pm the next day.

Soft drinks, wines and hot food will be available and there will be entertainment throughout the event including a performance by the Coventry Mummers.
