Once at Marton Close, the man threatened the driver with a knife. The driver jumped out the car but was pursued by the male who tripped him up and stole a very small amount of cash.

The driver suggested the two of them walk to the nearest cash machine to get more money out of fear of being further assaulted. The walked to Buckley Road and Gresham Avenue.

It was here that the driver stepped out in front of a passing police car and the offender ran off. He was wearing a white tracksuit with blue on it.

Anyone who can help identify the robber should call police on 415415 or pass on information anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
