Teacher lops off her long locks for two charities

LEAMINGTON teacher Jodie Young has sacrificed her tresses to help both children with cancer and adults with life-limiting illnesses.

The 27-year-old, who works at Coventry City College, waved goodbye to 12 inches of her locks on Saturday to raise funds for the Warwick-based Myton Hospices – and, as well as raising £550 for the charity, she also donated the hair that was cut off to the Little Princess Trust, which provides wigs made from real hair to children who have lost their own while undergoing treatment for cancer.

Ms Young, who lives in Old Town, said: “I feel light-headed! I have had long hair for about eight years now. My hair feels really tidy.”
