Teenager killed in crash near Southam

A TEENAGER died and four others were hurt in a car accident in Stockton last night.

The 17-year-old was killed when the blue MG ZR sports car he was driving hit a tree and overturned in Napton Road at around 7.20pm.

The car had been travelling from Napton towards Stockton when it left the road. Ambulance crews, the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and police were called to the scene, where the car had landed on its roof.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save the driver of the car and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

Four passengers, three men and one woman, all believed to be in their late teens, suffered multiple minor injuries in the crash and received emergency treatment. The three men were taken to University Hospital, Coventry and the woman was taken to Warwick Hospital.
