Teenager sexually assaulted in broad daylight in Leamington

A teenager has been sexually assaulted in broad daylight at a bus stop in Leamington.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward in relation to the incident, which occured outside Savers in the Parade last Wednesday (August 20) at around 3.30pm.

The victim, a 16-year-old girl, was approached by a man who sat down next to her at the bus stop and began “whispering in her ear”, before touching her inappropriately.

After the assault, the victim stood up and got on the 67 bus. The suspect ran to get on the 68 bus but then came back and boarded the same bus as the victim. The suspect then left the bus at a stop in Campion Hill and walked down Leicester Street.

The suspect is described as a man aged between 60 and 70, 5 ft 9ins and bald on top of his head with short brown hair at the sides. He was wearing clear glasses and a cream/beige coloured suit.

Several people were waiting for the bus during the time and are believed to have witnessed the assault. Police are urging anyone who may witnessed the assault or has any information regarding it to call police on 101, quoting incident 230 of the 20th August.
