Dr Cindy Townsend, a chiropractor at the clinic, described how a stroke of luck enabled the clinic to work with the WWE.
She said: “WWE used to have different chiropractors for each area, but a change of tour dates 10 years ago meant they needed to find a new one quickly, so they chose us.

“When they find people that they like they work with them closely.”
Due to the physical nature of their job, professional wrestlers are very mindful of their fitness, and require chiropractors who know them inside-out.

“Sitting on the bench isn’t an option for them.
“We also help them with injury prevention where we make adjustments to their spine before an injury can take place.”
The demands of the wrestlers also put pressure on the team to deliver the right care.

“But I’ll be giving little old ladies who come into the clinic the same exercises as the wrestlers on tour.
“The wrestlers are all really lovely and very respectful. There’s a real sense of team spirit because we’ve worked with them many times.

He added: “We have the privilege of seeing the same people again and again on tour - they’ve become a like family to us. One of the nice things about working with the WWE is when they arrive everyone is so pleased to see you.
“Our aim is to send them home feeling better than when they arrived.

When asked why these kinds of clients keep coming back to secure the clinic’s services, Dr Cindy Townsend said: “I think it’s trust. Once you have a relationship with these people you have to get results and be prepared to work hard - they have to feel better once you’ve worked with them.”
