The man who could bring the Royal Show back to Stoneleigh Park
THE Royal Show could be back as early as 2013, according to the man brought in to turn around Stoneleigh Park’s fortunes.
Interim chief executive Ian Pegler, best known for bringing in celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal to create innovative new dishes during his tenure at Little Chef, said the venue would be “mad” not to bring back the Royal Show - and that he had heard the Queen and Princess Anne had been disappointed at the show’s demise in 2009.
But he said a relaunched show would take 18 months to plan, and would have to be updated to cater to modern interests in growing and cooking food.
