Three men charged after robbery at Hatton Country World

Three Coventry men have been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit robbery following an incident at Hatton Country World near Warwick.

Craig Covington, aged 30 of Cross Road, Foleshill, Steven McInulty aged 27 of Bathurst Road, Radford, and Anthony Collier aged 29 of Attoxhall Road in Stoke, have been remanded in custody and will next appear at Coventry Crown Court on Friday October 31.

The robbery took place at approximately 6.50pm on Wednesday 23rd July, after the attraction had been closed to visitors for the day.

Members of staff were threatened with a machete, hammer and axe.

One of the offenders is alleged to have threatened to chop of the fingers of one of the employees.

The offenders are alleged to have stolen £4,300 and a handbag containing car keys, a purse and a mobile phone. They are also alleged to have locked staff in the safe room.

The arrests were part of a joint operation between Warwickshire Police and West Midlands Police as part of an ongoing investigation linked to similar incidents.
