Three-year community order for man who made indecent images of children

A 61-year-old Warwick man has today (Friday) been given a three-year community order and a three-year supervision order for five counts of making indecent images of children and two counts of possessing extreme pornographic material.

Andre Davis of Reignier Place, Heathcote, has also been ordered to take part in a community sex offenders programme and to remain on the sex offenders register for 7 years. A Sexual Offences Prevention Order was also granted that ensures that Davis has to allow police access to any computer he uses.

Andre Davis had indicated that he would plead guilty to the seven offences at an earlier hearing at Leamington Magistrates Court on July 19 after which he was released on conditional bail not to contact or associate with any child under 16 until his sentencing at Warwick Crown Court today.

Speaking about the sentence, Det Con Sean Tonelli said: “This case was brought to the attention of Warwickshire Police by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre which gather intelligence on those who download or share indecent images of children.

“Anybody who downloads or shares indecent images of children through the internet will always leave some form of a trail and when this is identified enforcement action will always be taken.”
