Police were busy today (Friday August 14) with a series of sad events - so we thought it was best to give an overview of them after a day of confusion.

2.41am

Police arrested two people following an armed robbery at knifepoint yesterday (Thursday). In the early hours of the morning, officers responded to a report from CCTV operatives of two males going through the pockets of someone asleep in the street. The suspects were stopped and searched, and two knives were recovered.

A 28-year-old man of no fixed abode and 23-year-old man from Leamington were arrested on suspicion of the robbery. Click here for the full story.

12.30pm

Officers taped off the entrance of Jephson Gardens at the junction of Newbold Terrace and Newbold Road after someone was hit by a car - and the driver didn't stop. When we asked the police for information, some initially thought it was related to earlier arrests for the armed robbery. Eye witnesses said this was not the case and police later agreed, stating that it was in fact a hit-and-run incident. Click here for the full story,

A teenage cyclist was injured after a collision with a car on Keswick Green, Leamington. He was taken to hospital but his condition is unknown. Click here for the story.
