Trains are on time – it’s official

CHILTERN Railways was the most punctual train operator in the UK last month, according to report by Network Rail.

The operator runs services between Leamington, Warwick, Warwick Parkway and London Marylebone and was the highest performing train company with 97.3% of trains running on time between August 22 and September 18.

Chiltern Railways trains are categorised as late if they arrive five minutes after the scheduled time.

Operations director Keith Doughty said: “Our passengers tell us that the things most important to them are a safe, punctual train service and a comfortable seat, and this is what we aim to provide every day.”

Chiltern is working on a £250 million project to reduce journey times to London by 20 per cent, making a Leamington to Marylebone journey 67 minutes from next year.

It is owned by the German rail company Deutsche Bahn.
