Tribute to 26-year-old Laurence Gentle who died after car crash

THE FAMILY of a 26-year-old man who died in a car crash near Leamington have paid tribute to their lost loved one.

Laurence Gentle, of George Street in Birmingham, sustained fatal injuries when the Porsche he was driving came off the A45 Coventry bound carriageway near the Ryton-on-Dunsmore roundabout and hit a telegraph pole and trees before coming to rest on the verge at about 1.15am on Sunday.

He died shortly after he was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

Paying tribute to their “much loved son, brother, grandson, cousin and nephew” Mr Gentle’s family, who live in Leamington, have said: “We are totally devastated by the tragic loss of Laurence.

“He was a much loved son, brother, grandson, cousin and nephew and his family and friends will miss him with the greatest sadness.

“His positive outlook and great energy for life meant that he accomplished and experienced so much in his life which has now tragically been cut short.

“He had such a generous and caring nature and was always such great company. Laurence had so much to give and so much to say, he put his whole heart into everything he did.

“He was such a strong young man with so many hopes and dreams, he will always be remembered with such pride and love by all who knew him.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash or for anyone who saw the black Porsche or any other vehicles travelling on the A45 at about 1am on Sunday morning to come forward.
