The accident happened on Tuesday at about 12.35pm in a field near Lower End.

A community paramedic in a 4×4 rapid response vehicle was met at the road and then travelled down dirt tracks and across a wet field to get to the woman. An ambulance was also sent as back up.

The woman, a 22-year-old from Newbury in Berkshire, was complaining of back and hip pain. The paramedic was told that she had fallen from her horse as she jumped over a hedge.

Dirt track conditions meant that the ambulance was unable to reach her, so an air ambulance was called out. The woman was then airlifted to the University Hospital in Coventry.
