The victim received a cold call on Friday (July 25) from someone pretending to be a police officer and urging them to hand their bank card over to a courier.

Bogdan Herciu, 28, and Adrian Bucioaca, 30, both of Durants Road in Enfield appeared before magistrates at the Justice Centre in Leamington yesterday (Monday). They have been remanded in custody and will next appear at Warwick Crown Court on November 10.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have received phone calls from anyone who they believe is pretending to be a police officer or asking for them to hand their bank card over to a courier.

They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who has received a call from a man identifying himself as DCI Robert Laurence and stating he is from Hammersmith Police Station.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 378 of July 25.
