Two charged with cash theft from Sainsbury’s store in Leamington

Two men have been charged in connection with a burglary at Sainsbury’s Local in Radford Road, Leamington last Thursday.

At around 11.30pm on February 26, two men forced entry into the store, and stole a substantial amount of cash from the self service tills.

Ben Shane Davidson, aged 24, of Alexander Road, Bedworth and Sam Darren Percival, 29, of Regent Street in Bedworth, have been charged with burglary, and are due to appear at Warwickshire Magistrates Court on Friday March 13.

The pair were arrested by officers from Rugby Operation Patrol Unit who stopped to check their car around 20 minutes after the burglary. A quantity of cash was recovered in the vehicle.

Sergeant Dan Hicks said: “This was an excellent result in which officers have been able to swiftly locate and arrest the suspects. It sends a clear message to offenders, that they will be brought to justice before the courts.”
