Two men killed in car crash near Chesterton

Both sustained fatal injuries in a collision between their two cars at the junction of Fosse Way and Windmill Hill Lane shortly after 9am.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was airlifted to University Hospital, Coventry with chest and leg injuries after firefighters cut him from the wreckage, but he was confirmed dead at the hospital.

There were no passengers in either of the cars, a red Honda Civic and a red Volkswagen Polo.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who saw either car being driven before the accident.
