Two motorists ignored road closures while firefighters were dealing with a car fire in Kenilworth.

Fire crews from Kenilworth fire station were called to the scene on Wednesday afternoon (December 9) at around 4.30pm, which was at the Leyes Lane junction of Windy Arbour.

The car was well alight and the junction and the roads in the area were closed off while the fire was dealt with.

Firefighters said no one was injured from the incident but that two cars caused safety concerns by ignoring the road closure.

A spokesperson from Kenilworth fire station said: "Whilst extinguishing the fire two cars drove through the cones we had placed to close the road to make the area safe for our firefighters to work.

"Our fire engine has CCTV cameras, we will be obtaining the footage and passing it on to the police."
