Update: Man killed while walking on Europa Way

The fatal collision took place at around 3.50am on Wednesday September 30 when the man was walking in the road.

He was hit and killed by a Ford transit minibus between Habury Lane roundabout and Greys Mallory base in Warwick.

A Warwickshire Police spokesperson said: “A pedestrian died following a serious collision with a minibus in Warwick.

“The ambulance service attended the scene, but sadly the young man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Road closures are currently in place between greys Mallory Island and Heathcote Island.”

A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service said the driver of the minibus and his four passengers were assessed but did not require medical treatment.

He said: “An ambulance and a paramedic area support officer attended the scene.

“It quickly became apparent to crews that nothing could be done to save the pedestrian, a man, and he was confirmed dead on scene.”

The A452 near Bishops Tachbrook is closed between the A425 Banbury Road junction and the Heathcote Lane junction following the fatal collision and is not expected to reopen until late morning.
