UPDATE: Two arrested after youths attack police car in Old Town • Teenager released after social networking site arrest

TWO teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of damaging a police vehicle in Old Town last week.

But Warwickshire Police say they do not believe the incident was linked to looting and disorder which spread from London and Birmingham.

Police were called after a member of the public reported a small group of youths causing damage to a vehicle in Brunswick Street at around 11pm.

• A 14-year-old, also from Leamington, has been released with no further action to be taken after he was arrested on Friday following a posting on a social networking website which may have been designed to encourage criminal disorder.

The teenager was arrested on Friday under section 46 of the Serious Crime Act 2007 on suspicion of encouraging or assisting offences believing that one or more of them will be committed.

Det Insp Zaid Khan said: “Warwickshire Police regularly monitors social networking sites and anyone using them to incite criminal activity of any kind will be arrested and dealt with accordingly.”
