UPDATE: Two injured in '˜firearms incident'

A Rugby street is still closed off after two people were injured in a suspected firearms incident on Thursday night.

Police and ambulance crews were called to a house in Oxford Street just before 9pm on March 17 after reports that two people had been injured.

Officers cordoned the road off while investigations were carried out and said while no more can be said at this time, more information will be made available later this morning.

The road is still closed off, and it is understood the incident involved a threat of firearms.

The casualties were taken to hospital for treatment but the extent of the injuries is not yet known.

A Warwickshire Police spokesperson said: “The road has been cordoned off to allow police to investigate further.

“No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

“Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to call them.”
