Updated: Car flips onto its roof on A46 Warwick Bypass

FIREFIGHTERS and paramedics were working frantically to free a man from a car in the early hours of this morning.

Shortly before 4.30am Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call about a crash between junction two and three of the A46 Warwick Bypass, near Stanks Hill.

They arrived to find a car had gone over the embankment and landed on its roof. The driver of the vehicle, a male, was trapped inside it.

Warwickshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service were also in attendance and they all worked hard to free him.

The man was extricated at around 5.15am and taken to hospital by ambulance.
