UPDATED: Collision between car and a lorry on the M1 through Northamptonshire causing ten mile tailbacks
Long delays are being experienced on the M1 motorway through Northamptonshire after a collision between a lorry and a car.
Two lanes are currently closed on the southbound carriageway between the Watford Gap services and junction 16 for the A45 Northampton West.
Reports suggest the tailbacks are stretching back to junction 19 at Catthorpe after the collision this afternoon in the 50mph roadworks stretch of the motorway.
Recovery teams are currently on scene.
