Vulnerable woman robbed in Leamington

Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a vulnerable woman was robbed in broad daylight at the Pump Room Gardens in Leamington yesterday (Monday).

At about 2.30pm the victim, who is in her 40s, was approached by a woman on a blue bicycle, who demanded she handed over her purse and threatened to assault her if she did not comply. The suspect searched the victim’s handbag and stole her purse, containing cash and a Tesco Club Card, before leaving over the river bridge towards York Road.

The suspect was described as white, between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 8ins tall with brown curly hair.

At the time of the incident she was wearing a brown hooded coat with a fur trim hood and white training shoes.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who can offer any information which could assist in identifying the suspect to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 27 of July 20.
