Warwick Boat Club bowlers help pay for Castel From party

A strong bond has been made between Castel Froma and the Warwick Boat Club’s bowls team. So much so that the bowls players helped pay for the residential home’s Christmas party.

In light of this, the players were invited to the event and had a great time.

Last summer WBC bowls section ladies captain, Lorna Lee, held a charity bowls gala in aid of Castel Froma - a nursing care home based in Leamington, caring for residents who have a number of neurological impairments including Multiple Sclerosis and Motor Neurone Disease.

A resident of the home attended the gala in company with her parents and a member of the care staff; the proceeds from the gala - a little under £200 - was presented on the day.

WBC members were told it would be used to help provide a Christmas party for all the residents of the home. Party day duly arrived and Lorna Lee and Jill Minett attended not only to represent WBC Bowls Section members, but also to present a further cheque of £100, donated by the WBC general committee.

The WBC said that the event demonstrated the “wonderful care and compassion given to the home’s residents by their dedicated team of staff”.
