Warwick cadet flying high

A WARWICK schoolboy was celebrating recently after scooping a top prize with the air cadets.

David Tibbits is in lower sixth at Warwick School and earlier this month travelled to RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire to attend the 90th Air Cadet leadership course.

There are 45,000 cadets in the country and only 176 are chosen to take part in the course annually. The week-long course is notoriously demanding but upon finishing it cadets are able to wear the coveted Golden Falcon badge.

The commanders were so impressed with David’s performance that he was chosen as course leader, commanding all four flights on two separate occasions. He passed the course with one of only two distinction grades awarded - a grade which had not been granted to any cadet for five years. It is the first time a student from Warwick School has achieved this standard.
