Warwick children perform in church

And tomorrow morning (Fri) there will be a concert of Christmas songs starting with youngsters from Emscote Infants followed by a special ensemble from Myton School.

Entertainment will continue throughout the morning concluding with Westgate Primary School’s choir singing a wide range of festive songs.

On Saturday there will be an afternoon of music from Da Capo followed by a charity jazz concert in the evening.

The festival continues throughout the week with other highlights including handbell ringing at 2pm on December 6 and concluding with a concert by St Mary’s Choir entitled Music for Christmas.

This includes Benjamin Britten’s famous Ceremony of Carols starting at 7.30pm.

Parish administrator Felicity Bostock said: “Craft stalls and our gift shop will be open for most of the week to help with Christmas presents and there will be refreshments on both weekends.

“All the lovely trees on display are individually decorated by members of the community and local businesses and, just as last year, we are encouraging all visitors to vote for their favourite.”

Tickets for both the jazz and Britten concerts are available at the doors of the church in Old Square.
