Tulip’s Supply Chain Director Michael Sondergaard said: ““We had the idea of hosting a golf day where we could bring our suppliers together at an informal event as part of our initiative to develop stronger relationships, and felt it could also be a great opportunity to raise much needed funds for our chosen charity, Make-A-Wish.

“We were absolutely blown away by the generosity of everyone who took part, who managed between them to raise a staggering £43,000 on the day.

“There was an awful lot of fun had by all, however I must admit that there was also a fair amount of competitive spirit on display as well.

“I and my fellow colleagues on the Tulip board auctioned our services to act as caddies on the day, which was incredibly popular with our suppliers.

“I won’t reveal exactly which one of us achieved the highest bid, if for no other reason than to spare the blushes of our CEO Chris Thomas.

“The money raised will enable Make-A-Wish® to grant around eleven wishes for seriously ill children and their families across the UK, giving the whole family precious time together by creating magical memories to cherish for years to come and I would like to thank everyone who took part in making the day such a huge success.”

Tulip is now well on course to achieve the target it set itself to raise £100,000 for Make-A-Wish and anyone interested in finding out more about the charity and the work it carries out for seriously ill children and their families can visit its website.
