Guy Bicknell, senior land manager for Taylor Wimpey Midlands - the head office of which is at Tournament Court in Warwick, swam 2.4 miles, cycled 112 miles and ran 26.2 miles on the Mexican island of Cozumel, with a time of 12 hours 31 minutes.

Although Guy has been competing in triathlons for six years, this was his first Ironman event. He was raising funds for the World Land Trust, which is supporting the Buy an Acre project in Mexico.

Guy said: “This project sees the charity buy up land to extend and protect the existing Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve for the benefit of local wildlife and rainforest protection. If the land is not protected, it would most likely fall victim to logging and clearance for farming.

“I’d like to thank everyone who’s sponsored me and helped me raise such a fantastic amount for this great cause.”
