Warwickshire fire service is now on Facebook

FACEBOOK users in Warwickshire can now read fire safety advice and find out how to request free home fire safety checks through the social networking website.

The county’s fire and rescue service has already attracted around 2,000 people to follow its Twitter feed - so it has now created a Facebook group.

By clicking ‘like’ on its Facebook page, people can receive the latest news feed from the service and find out about recruitment opportunities and fire safety campaigns.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer Gary Phillips said: “As a fire and rescue service, we want the local communities we serve to be able to engage with us in a more interactive and accessible way.

“For us, it’s about making critical fire safety advice as accessible to as many people as possible and to allow communities to understand more about what the service does. Social media is one of the many tools we use to help us achieve this in the quickest and most effective way.”
